Best Airlines for Pakistanis Ranked 2026 — Service, Value, and Comfort

    Editorial

Choosing an airline from Pakistan in 2026 is more complicated than it should be. There are now over 20 airlines flying out of Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, plus 5 international carriers operating from Sialkot. The right choice depends on your destination, your budget, your travel frequency, and whether you value direct flights over connections. This guide ranks the airlines we book for our own clients — not in order of prestige, but in order of which airline we actually recommend for which use case.

For live fare comparisons and booking, message us on WhatsApp.

    1. Emirates — Best Overall for Gulf & Beyond

Emirates is the airline we recommend most often for Pakistani travellers heading to Dubai, Europe, North America, or Africa via Dubai. Direct flights from Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi to Dubai connect to over 130 destinations worldwide. Service is consistently 5-star, baggage allowance is generous (30 kg in economy), and the hub at Dubai International is one of the most efficient in the world. The A380 service on the Karachi-Dubai and Lahore-Dubai routes is genuinely premium — the on-board lounge and shower spa in business class are unmatched at this price point.

Best for: Gulf travel, Europe via Dubai, families with children, premium economy seekers.

    2. Qatar Airways — Best for Europe and Africa

Qatar Airways flies direct from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar to Doha, connecting to over 170 destinations worldwide. Their Doha hub is the most efficient in the Gulf for European connections — the average layover is 2.5 hours, compared to 4+ hours on Emirates via Dubai. Qatar Airways has won "Airline of the Year" multiple times in the last decade, and the Qsuite in business class is widely considered the best business class product in the world.

Best for: Schengen Europe, African destinations, business class travellers, those who value short connections.

    3. Turkish Airlines — Best for Schengen & Central Europe

Turkish Airlines flies direct from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to Istanbul, connecting to more European destinations than any other carrier. For Pakistani travellers heading to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, or the Balkans, Turkish is often the fastest and cheapest option. Service quality is good (4-star), food is halal by default, and the Istanbul airport hub is excellent. The challenge is the visa — Turkish Airlines cannot help you get a Schengen visa, and Turkish eVisas for Pakistanis require a valid Schengen/UK/USA visa.

Best for: Schengen Europe, Central Europe, Balkans, travellers with valid Schengen/UK/USA visas.

    4. PIA — Best for Direct Umrah from Sialkot

Despite the operational challenges of recent years, PIA remains the only direct option from Sialkot to Jeddah for Umrah, and one of only two direct options from Sialkot to Dubai. The Umrah routes are well-managed — PIA takes Umrah traffic seriously, with dedicated check-in counters, pre-departure Ihram changing facilities at Sialkot airport, and trained cabin crew who understand Umrah protocols. PIA is also the only airline flying direct from Pakistan to New York (currently suspended due to safety certification issues, but expected to resume post-privatization).

Best for: Umrah from Sialkot, direct domestic routes to smaller cities, the PIA Privatization question — see our complete PIA privatization guide for what to expect in 2026.

    5. AirSial — Best Budget Carrier

AirSial has become the most reliable budget carrier in Pakistan since its launch in 2020. The fleet is modern (A320-200s), the service is no-frills but consistent, and the prices are typically 20 to 35% below PIA on equivalent domestic routes. AirSial operates from Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, and Peshawar, with international routes to Jeddah and Dubai. The catch is the 25 kg baggage allowance (vs 30 kg on PIA and Emirates) and limited route network.

Best for: Budget domestic travel, budget Umrah from Sialkot. See our complete domestic flights guide for route-by-route comparisons.

    6. SereneAir — Best Domestic Premium

SereneAir is the smallest of the Pakistani carriers but offers the best in-flight service on domestic routes. The fleet is brand new (A330-200s and 737-800s), seats are wider than PIA or AirSial, and the food is genuinely good. Limited routes — Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Jeddah — but if SereneAir flies where you need to go, it is usually the best domestic option.

    7. flydubai — Best for Cheaper Gulf Connections

flydubai is Emirates' budget sister airline, and on routes like Sialkot to Dubai, flydubai is often 30 to 40% cheaper than Emirates on the same flight. Service is more basic (no in-seat entertainment, buy-on-board food), but the flight is the same 3 hours and the Dubai connection is the same. Worth considering if you are connecting onwards and price matters more than comfort.

What About Etihad, Oman Air, Gulf Air, and Saudia?

These carriers are also worth considering depending on your route:

    • Etihad — Abu Dhabi hub, direct from Lahore and Islamabad. Good for travel to USA via AUH pre-clearance.
    • Oman Air — Muscat hub, direct from Sialkot and Karachi. Our Oman travel guide covers Muscat as a destination in its own right.
    • Gulf Air — Bahrain hub, direct from Karachi and Lahore. See our Bahrain travel guide.
    • Saudia — Jeddah hub, the natural choice for Umrah from Karachi and Lahore. The new Jeddah airport is spectacular.

    The Frequent Flyer Question

If you fly more than 4 times a year internationally, sign up for a frequent flyer program. For Pakistani travellers, the most rewarding programs are Emirates Skywards (for Emirates and flydubai), Qatar Airways Privilege Club (for Qatar Airways and Oneworld partners), and Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles (for Star Alliance partners). All three programs allow you to earn and redeem miles on partner airlines — a Karachi-London return on Qatar Airways can earn enough miles for a free Karachi-Dubai return ticket.

For the broader booking-timing strategy — which can save you more money than any frequent flyer program — see our guide on the best time to book international flights from Pakistan.
